I received my first snare drum when I was seven and began formal training in fifth grade band. I started on the drum set when I was eleven, inspired by my brother's rock band. In high school, my band teacher took me to see the Stan Kenton Jazz Orchestra. I was completely blown away! To say it changed my life would be an understatement. From that moment on I've tried to be open to as many styles of music possible. I've been playing gigs every weekend since I was sixteen. It was at this time I started studying with Greg Warner, Mel Brown and Gary Hobbs. I received outstanding jazz musician awards from Clark, Clackamas and Mt. Hood jazz Festivals. I also received a scholarship from Mt. Hood Community College. I then went to North Texas State where I majored in jazz and studied with Dr. Robert Schietroma.

I started my professional career playing with the great jazz saxophonist Hadley Caliman. Wanting to be involved in popular music I joined the top 40 band “Price” and soon moved to the national act Nu Shooz where I played an 80-city tour, performed on TV shows such as American Band Stand and Solid Gold and received a gold record with the album Poolside.

I also had regional success playing with Body and Soul, which performed on the Today Show, The Pat Sajak Show and most recently Governor Ted Kulongoski's Inaugural Ball in 2007

Today I play with the Swingline Cubs. The Cubs are one of the most respected casual bands in Oregon and were named one of the top 100 bands in America by Modern Bride Magazine. I also perform and record regularly with singer Johnny Martin, Timothy Bryson and Mike Winkle as well as many others.
